Often copied, Claude Garamond's original fonts were
designed sometime between 1530 and 1545 in Paris, France.
In those days, Garamond had to hand-cut each character
to produce the matrices (masters) from which the type used for
the actual printing would be cast. The modern version shown
here is Stempel Garamond, the cut closest to the orginal design.
